Kim Sae-ron’s Mother Refutes Kim Soo-hyun’s Claims: The “Aunt” Is A Friend Who Has Known The Family For Over 20 Years

On March 14, it was confirmed that Kim Sae-ron’s mother, referred to as A, is preparing a rebuttal against the official statement released by Kim Soo-hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, earlier on the same day.

A is currently suffering from facial nerve paralysis due to stress following her daughter’s passing, making daily life difficult. Because of this, B, a person who has cared for Kim Sae-ron since birth, has been assisting A and representing the family in interviews.  

B is the same person who was interviewed by the YouTube channel Garo Sero under the alias of “Kim Sae-ron’s aunt.” The relative who communicated with Kim Sae-ron regarding her statement in March last year is B’s biological daughter. The two families have been close for over 20 years, and Kim Sae-ron referred to B as “aunt.”  

Previously, Gold Medalist said in its statement that, “The informant who appeared on ‘Garo Sero’ and spread false claims identified herself as a family member, but she is actually just an acquaintance of Kim Sae-ron’s mother,” adding that “this unidentified informant is distorting facts and spreading rumors.”  

However, according to Kim Sae-ron’s family, Gold Medalist was already aware of B’s existence. They claim that B was close enough to Kim Sae-ron to be called “aunt” and had even met with agency officials while personally picking up Kim Sae-ron for work-related matters.  

Now, despite her health issues, A has decided to release a direct statement because she believes Gold Medalist’s claims contain multiple distortions. Both she and the rest of the family are expressing strong anger over the agency’s position.  

Meanwhile, earlier on March 14, Gold Medalist acknowledged Kim Sae-ron and Kim Soo-hyun’s past relationship but insisted that they only dated between the summer of 2019 and the fall of 2020, after she had become an adult. The agency also denied allegations that Kim Soo-hyun pressured Kim Sae-ron with a massive penalty fee.

However, criticism has arisen since Kim Soo-hyun’s agency previously denied the dating rumors in March last year, leading many to question whether they have now exposed their own past lies.

During a livestream by Garo Sero Research Institute on March 14, Kim Sae-ron’s mother released a heartfelt message, accusing YouTuber Lee Jin-ho and other media sources for fabricating news about Kim Sae-ron. However, she avoided mentioning Kim Soo-hyun for his mental health.
